The Cheap, Healthy, Good blog is a consortium of Brooklynites who keep a blog dedicated to ... well, you can probably guess. They feature simple recipes made from (primarily) "whole" foods, with most dishes coming in for under $6 total. So that covers the Healthy and the Cheap, but they also take the "Good" criterion very seriously. They not only calculate the basic nutritional information (fat and calories) of each yummy recipe; in a unique twist, they also tally up the cost-per-serving, Which helps you keep an eye on the bottom line while keeping an eye on your bottom.
Whether they're lightening up a hush-puppy recipe, or discovering the beauty of a grilled banana with chocolate, the writing is always fun and the recipes always tasty. And with a healthy dose of snark thrown in (just read their about page if you don't believe me. Hilarious!), they've become one of our favorite daily reads.
