Chicago Stressed Out, Miami Super Chill

Chicago: most stressed citiesMaybe it was losing the Olympic bid to Rio. Or, maybe it was the Jay Cutler's performance against the Atlanta Falcons. Either way, Chicago came out as the most stressed city in a recent survey by Harris Interactive.

Maybe they need to go to Rio and chill for a while ... nah.

We might have predicted Detroit or Las Vegas, would be the most stressed, given their economies, but neither were in the top five; Detroit did crack the top 10.

The survey, sponsored by Princess Cruises, "reveals" that even though Americans continue to strive for the ultimate life balance, which includes juggling work and personal priorities, only one-quarter of people in the U.S. say have achieved this goal.

America's Most Stressed Out Cities

1. Chicago
2. Houston
3. Boston
4. Los Angeles
5. San Diego
6. Denver
7. San Francisco
8. Detroit
9. Tampa (tie)
9. Portland, Ore. (tie)
10. Seattle

The top-five things Americans feel will help them achieve better life balance include realizing financial success, improving physical fitness, getting organized and taking more breaks and vacations -- like a cruise.

While Princess Cruise lines might prefer that Chicagoans jump ship to the Bahamas, finding an affordable rental home or apartment would probably be our suggestion. Or maybe take in a roommate? Just sayin'.
