Here's a new trend in apartment-sized exercise equipment: The kettlebell. It looks like a canon ball with a handle and it might have one of the best workout-to-space ratios around.
Ready for some heavy-duty fat burning?
Kettlebells are said to originate from Russia. They are used both by military and civilians to do a variety of fluid-like movements that build muscle, strength, and endurance.
To begin, select a kettlebell that is the appropriate size for you. Fit females begin with 15 to 20 pounds. Ladies who are just getting started with an exercise program can begin with 10 pounds. Fit males begin with 25 to 35 pounds. Men who are just getting started with an exercise program can begin with 15 to 20 pounds.
To learn how to use a kettlebell you can attend classes in many major cities. Like other exercises, proper form is important as well as warming up and cooling down to prevent injury. To learn more, check out kettlebell DVDs from Iron Core Fitness
