A Pig in Every Purse

and to DAVE HATED: Animals are not 'logic absent'. Just because most don't have opposable thumbs or speak in your language (which apparently is the language of dumbass) doesn't mean they don't use logical thinking to solve problems (check out this christian science monitor article - http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0329/p17s01-stss.html?page=1), feel pain and suffering or grieve when their babies or partners are killed. And I doubt most animal rights activists feel that 'non-human' animals are 'equal' to humans (I do, however, need to remind you that human beings ARE animals. A fact you seem to have forgotten), but that's not really the issue. The animals that our culture regularly tortures (and yes, by ANYone's standards factory farming is torture plain and simple), kills, then eats are sentient beings. Activists argue that all sentient beings should have the right to not be tortured. I'd have to agree. But, YOU'RE RIGHT, if we eat pigs, why not dogs and cats, and humans, for that matter? If we as a society accept that it's ok to torture and kill certain sentient beings but not others, then we are acting hypocritically. And that's why I don't eat meat. Look, I know there are a lot of pain-in-the-ass activists who can come off as holier than thou, and you may not like their style, but there's no denying Peta really has done a world of good to help make the lives of abused animals a little better. And I'm sure if you weren't at the top of the food chain, you'd be happy about that. But you are at the top, and are free to have as little compassion as you do. Lucky you. Why do you have so much hatred for someone because they actually care about animals? That doesn't automatically mean they don't have compassion for issues directly affecting you and other humans. In fact, people like Maukwa and I feel sorry for you, because a person filled with so much hate must be a sad, uncaring and lonely person at the core.

Getting a mini pig and going to name it Kanye West

I don't care how cute they are I don't know why anyone would want to keep a pig for a pet. It just doesn't make any sense to me at all. Well I guess to each his own, right?

He played the piano and answered the telephone.
Very smart and very clean.
A personable porker who would jump up on the couch and sleep with his head on my lap when I watched TV.

A part of our family with my Chesapeake Bay Retriever and cat, Piganini was a babe magnet! Took him for walks on a leash.
He was cute and fun.
He'd sit, turn around, push the ball, and when I said "Hormel" would lie down and appear to play dead.(He'd do that to get his tummy tickled.)
He'd open the sliding glass door to go outside to potty or poop.
Droppings not unpleasant odor and soon dried. Mixed in garden soil.

Animals trust humans. They should get that trust back from humans through respect, kindness, & love.
Animals have saved human lives. Animals cause humans to live longer & are therapeutic for all & all ages.
Kindness starts with animals. If one is kind to animals then kindness will be expressed to humans of all ages. To respect animals is to respect yourself. Go for it.

where did Maukwa say anything about putting humans and other animals on the same level? I love how people like you will clump all animal rights activists into one large peta loving group. PETA is just the most well known organization fighting for animal rights but there are many others.
As for what Maukwa did say, "HOW CAN ANYONE EAT THESE FEELING, THINKING, LOVING BEINGS?" it is all true. As mentioned, eating animals is very bad for your health. Check out the recommendations of the American Heart Assoication and the American Cancer Society, they both call for a diet with MORE plant based sources and LESS animal based sources..so basically give up animal products. Why dont you use some of that logic you were talking about and think about why you insist on eating animals when it will probably kill you. Very logical.

I wound up with Penny 120 pound mini pig i had her for a year and a half. my nephew lost his place , and couldnt keep her . so she came to us . she would follow me around our suburban yard while i worked .
she liked to play with a ball. one day she got sick . stopped eating , lay down and died before we could do anything about it . she had pnumonia I found out . very common for pigs . I was very sad. if you have a pig , and it stops eating get it to the vet quick before it's too late

Umm, has anyone noticed the pig in the picture is a rather large pig in a bathtub?

I live in arkanas which is the "hog" state.. we are infatuated with pigs,, I have been collecting them for years.. i would love one or two of these tiny ones since im a real animal lover also.. we have alot of land in the mtns here,, a dog and a cat.. but would love to have one in the house as a pet or 2 that is.. how do we get one???
