ilived in va beach meany years ago and they were even in my bed,once theres a nest in the building theres no getting rid of them...found that out the hard way.this poor guy better unpack everything outside and re pack so he doesnt bring to new place with him.they can even lay lil eggs u cant see so he may as well forget it all if he doesnt move like now...

Funny. The picture used by at the top of the story is a very large Austrailian cockroach. Not the german roaches he is probably infested with. I guess it works for the "Gross you out" factor!

It is very important to have no cardboard or paper bags and the like as roaches fiest and are attracted to them. Gross.. good luck kid.

I think AOL should send all of the spammers on the boards to this apartment building, and let them sleep with the roaches.

There is only on way to get rid of those roaches and that is to remove all water and food and find the nest and saturate the entire building with almost pure malathion for months until there is not one speck of non-poisoned material left. And as others said, they are everywhere!! Inside the walls, inside the walls of appliances, clocks, speakers, furniture, books, they will hatch out and live on the carcasses of their parents!! They will run outside and come back in, in the meantime they will eat the residue off the slimy dumpsters and trash cans outside and will travel in via shoes, groceries, etc. They can even live off the crumbs in your car. I have been through this. Moving is an option, but you must remove every item and fumigate it prior to bringing it anywhere! I bought a place & had no choice but to 1: Not move anything in upon arrival. 2: Spray for two months as I gutted the walls in search of nests. 3: Fix all leaks. 4: Remove all trash, debris, rotted or decayed matter, including leaves, mulch and soil, and boxes or paper products. 5: Caulk, caulk, caulk! 6: Spray the entire outside are to prevent returning bugs. 7: Continue to spray monthly until there is no longer a threat of return. 8: Get the neighbors on the same program!!!!

Lor, they are the internet's breed of roaches. It's imposssible to get rid of them and they're everywhere!!!

It sounds like the story of Joes apartment, Im a Joe.. the story goes.. Joe allowed the cockroaches to stay as long as they hid, when he had company .. they did untill one day Joe brought home a big chested lady. This time they crawled down in to a over hear light . to check out the ladys chest.. and there were so many that their weight pulled down the over head light . Needless to say the lady never returned.

Sometimes it takes something like this to get results! Hopefully this guy twittered this...would spread like cockroaches...(no pun intended!) I'm sure this apt. complex will never get new renters unless problem solved! What sucks, the roaches have probably tagged a ride onto all of his belongings by now.....He'd better hope that his family bought him nothing but clothes for Christmas.....he has to move out naked and start all over....They even set up shop in his electronics..... Sad!!!!! I wish you all the luck in the world!

I live @ Indian Hills apartments in Las Vegas too (Sahara & Decatur), and I'm tired of roaches I have in my apartment too. I moved in in 2007 & there were some in the kitchen, but it has become a big problem now & now I find a lot more than I found last year, it's getting worse each time. They come to spray from time to time but it is NOT working, I keep getting them, small ones, big ones & even with eggs... I'm definitely moving out in 3 mths when my lease is up! I have a baby & a 2 yr old & I don't want them to live with these nasty bugs!!!!

My neighbor brought those nasty bugs to my house in a kerosene heater. My home became infested. I heard about this tube of gel I could get at Walmart that would fix the problem. It took about 3 tubes and 6-8 weeks but they are gone and have been for two years. The tubes come in black boxes and run about $8.00 a tube, but they work! I think it's Black Flag, but not sure. I seen a MAJOR inprovement in a matter of days. One tube done my small trailer twice. I kept treating to make sur they never got bad again.

OMG !! Call the State Housing Authorithy, then the City Housing Athority, then the County Housing Authority. If that doesn't work, call the local LEO's. This is not legal housing. This is land lord abuse and slum lord housing. TURN THEM IN !!!

I used to live in a trailer park by Nellis. Couple things you can do. Make sure there is no standing water in your apartment. Pour some cheap bleach down every drain & toilet, every week & don't rinse or flush til morning. Make some little aluminum foil boats & put some crushed bay leaves & shredded cucumber peel mixed together into the corners of all the cupboards. Take some borax & put a bit of it in corners of cupboards & places where your kids & pets can't get to. And don't forget, when you move, the roaches love you so much, they come with you! Also, they love beer, so be real careful to keep the recyclables away from the house.

if you mix the following together and put it in a jar the raoches will eat it track to to their nests and kill them all safely no pestisides.. you can buy 20 mule team borax in the laundry soap isle..

3/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup borax (20 mule team)

place in a open jar, you will notice a few dead after a couple days and the mixture will disappear, soon they all will be gone, when mixture is gone refill it. make sure and keep some out for a yr as new will hatch from time to time. The borax dehydrates them from the inside out, just a natural rem.. safe to use
