Brittany Murphy's Home for Sale, at Big Premium

Brittany Murphy's Hollywood Hills home is up for sale less than three months after her death. The actress died in its bathroom with elevated levels of Vicodin in her system. Brittany's husband, Simon Monjack, told TMZ on Monday that Brittany's mother, Sharon Murphy, has listed the home for the steep price of $7.25 million -- nearly double what the actress paid for it.

Murphy, who was 32, left the home and all of her assets to her mom. The will stated "I am married to Simon Monjack, who I have intentionally left out of this will," reported Popeater. And does that just irk hubby?
Apparently not. "It was just important to me that Sharon would always have stability," he told E! Online.

The very stable 8,000-square-foot home, located on 1.29 acres at 1893 Rising Glen in the Hollywood Hills, is seen listed for $7.25 million on RealEstate.com by Eitan Segal of Rodeo Realty.

The late starlet purchased the 5-bedroom home with pool in 2003 for about $3.85 million from Britney Spears, who shared it with Justin Timberlake. Spears purchased it in 2001 for $2.97 million, reported RadarOnline. Currently, Zillow estimates that the home is valued at $4.74 million, and recently Los Angeles County assessed the 1997-built home at just over $3.93 million with $24,000 in property taxes due in April.

It will be quite the feat if Murphy's mom can pull off selling the property quickly -- and at such a hefty premium. As HousingWatch has reported, tainted real estate can be difficult to sell, even when the death is that of a celebrity.
