WOW, How does a DJ make that kind of money, seems kindof odd to me. Maybe he was a drug dealer. Just something doesnt add up, It saddens me that alot of people are dying from overdoses. Its really time that people dont think that their loved ones arent doing drugs but we have to be realistic that the statistics show the complete opposite. I hope the new owners dont have any problems in that house, we never know what happens when buying a home or the history in the house. Never talk anything for granted, look out for your loved ones and when something isnt right, do something about it...

FYI, Adam Goldstein was a very successful producer and collaborated with many of his network of buddies (most notably Travis from Blink 182). He also had several DJ "residencies" in Las Vegas / New York. His death was tragic. He had actually been a very positive role model for those in recovery. He stayed clean and sober for several years and was known for helping others get clean out of the goodness of his heart. Addiction, especially opiate addiction, is a deadly and insidious disease that can go into "remission" for decades only to be awakened by traumatic life issues (like the plane crash he almost died in just a few years ago). Unfortunately it claimed a good person in Adam. Rest in peace, bro!

I agree that something's not right. A club DJ (unless he's also the club owner) cannot be earning anything near that amount of money.

Do the math: Let's say it costs $25 to gain entry to a club and the club holds 500 people. And let's say every one of those 500 people consumes $25 worth of liquor. That's $25,000 income to the club x twice per week = $50K x 52 weeks = $2.6 million. Now the question becomes how much of that income are they willing to pay a DJ who is not a stockholder? I think even 10% would be much more than they would ever pay, but let's say it is 10% - that's $260K. You cannot afford even one $2 million apartment on that salary, never mind two. Most banks would not let you buy anything above $750K on that income.

OK, some posted that he was also on CDs, but most CDs don't sell these days and even if they do, income back to the performers is very little. Most artists never ever earn out their royalty advance.

So I might be naive about the economics of being a major market DJ, but I agree that it doesn't add up.

He was found not long after he died really. And an oxy tablet still in his mouth isn't all that strange. They have a coating that doesn't break down easily and I'm sure his mouth was dry.

When you look at this man's wealth,it just goes to show how out of wack things are in this country. Police and fire fighters have to fight for pay raises. Teachers don't get paid nearly enough. Why does a guy who plays records get millions of dollars?

To say any place of residence is doomed because people die there is nonsense. Tragically, the guy died of an overdose; he had an addiction problem. It's not like he was murdered by ghosts.
