Sarah Jessica Parker Eyes West Village Home, $24 Million

Sarah Jessica Parker at a recent event"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker and her family (including hubby Matthew Broderick and three children) might be moving -- though if they take the West Village place she was recently spotted looking at, they aren't straying far from their current New York abode.

Parker and Co. already live in the West Village, but she was seen scouting a $24-million townhouse there. Does it have a closet fit for Carrie Bradshaw?
The 9-bedroom townhouse Parker toured is considerably larger than her current spot, which she said is "bursting at the seams."

Most people think of the West Village as quaint townhouses and apartment, and that is true, but those quaint spots come at a price. A search of AOL listings shows homes in the Village listed for $10 million and up. So while the property SJP toured is costly, homes in the neighborhood often fetch prices in the eight-figure range.

Apparently Parker has been looking for a larger pad for some time. Back in April the New York Daily News reported that SJP made an offer on a Gramercy Park townhouse (complete with key to the private park located nearby) but was outbid. Guess she learned her lesson this time around and found spending a few extra million will land you your dream home.

Parker also realized that getting out and looking means going to other areas, too -- including downtown. More recently she and hubby Broderick checked out 54 Bond, according to The Real Deal. They took a tour of the 7,000 square-foot seven-bedroom triplex selling for $19.9 million.

Parker might be open to different neighborhoods, but she definitely prefers the southerns sections of Manhattan.

SJP has said that she wouldn't go to the 'burbs, so the ginormous West Village pad -- in size and price -- fits her city criteria and apparently her wallet.
