Katy Perry and Russell Brand Buy $2.9M Tribeca Loft

Singer Katy Perry might not have been able to catch up with "Sesame Street's" Elmo, but she and fiancé Russell Brand caught a deal on a Tribeca penthouse.

The two-bedroom, two-bath loft at 65 North Moore St. sold for about $200,000 off the $2.9 million list price and is in a building that doesn't have a doorman, reports the New York Post. But the Manhattan dwelling does have a key-locked elevator, according to the listing details at the Corcoran Group.

The 1,500-square-foot duplex, which has a radiant-heated bathroom floor and a cherry staircase that leads to the open-loft master bedroom, will be the couple's pied-à-terre. They already share a four-bedroom home in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills that the British comedian and actor purchased in December for $3.25 million, according to the RealEstalker. That stately house is 4,706 square feet with marble surfaces, a pool, a spa and gated entrance.

Perry opened the new season of "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend as its musical guest.

Heated floor in the bathroom? $2.7 million dollars for a 1,500 foot space. Really? REALLY?? I guess it's all relative, but I would never fork over that much money for anything. NEVER. I would have to hit the lottery first, but even then, no. NEVER. It just screams out "I have money that you don't have and see what I can waste it on"! Geez. I guess this is where the saying "If you got it, flaunt it" came from.

The street is actually named Nathaniel Moore - not North Moore - although MANY people make that mistake. I know a resident of that block who rents a 3000 sqft loft for $350/month, but he's lived there since the 1970s - wise choice. The block is now full of celebrities, so KP and RB will find themselves right at home.

Maybe many people make the mistake of calling it North Moore b/c that's how it shows up on maps. Either that or as "N Moore".
Try looking up "Nathaniel Moore" street on the post office web site and you get an error. Try looking up "North Moore" and the USPS abbreviates it to "N Moore"

Another greedy wealthy couple from Hollywood that buys an expensive place. The article already said they had a four bedroom home in L.A. I ponder if they belong to the same party that blasts wealthy CEO's of companies.

But who are they taking money from? The impoverished leftovers of CEO-maniacal companies. These villains take from the sub-poor that is left at the end of the day. Ahhhh, the capitalists made the workers poor but the "artists" make sure that they are kept poor.

Why would anyone with tons of money want to live humbly?? If I had their amount of money, I've have places in LA, NYC, Paris, London, etc. WHY NOT?? Good for them, I say.

What they paid is not necessarily considered a high price in Manhattan which has very expensive real estate. Their apartment sounds quite large compared to some places in the city. It's all relative to what one makes. Nice commission for the real estate agent!
