Socialite Cornelia Guest has been having real estate woes the past few years like many home sellers, even if her price point is higher than most -- in the eight figures. Having listed her Old Westbury, N.Y. home, dubbed Templeton
, in 2008 for $20 million, the 11-bedroom home with 6 full bathrooms and 2.5 baths has been reduced to $11.9 million, Newsday reports
In a town that has had many residents from families named Vanderbilt and Whitney, it seems real estate buyers in this neck of the woods are hard to come by.
The average price for a five-bedroom home in Old Westbury on Long Island's tony North Shore is $2.33M. But Guest's home has not only more than double the bedrooms, it has other buildings (see below) on the 15-plus acres.

Along with housing family portraits by John Singer Sargent, Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol, the property has had some notable guests, the socialite told Hampton Style magazine
in 2008, including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Rudolf Nureyev, Halston, Truman Capote and members of the Kennedy family.
Currently listed with Kevin Daigh
of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the property has the 1924 main home as well as an equestrian center, stables, barn, two cottages and greenhouses. In addition to the buildings, the grounds features a tennis court, swimming pool and formal gardens.
Guest (pictured at left) is the daughter of writer C.Z. Guest and was dubbed the 1980s' "debutante of the decade" in by Warhol.
