'Godfather' House on Sale in Staten Island

Movie fans already know the "Godfather" house, located in the New York City borough of Staten Island, inside and out. It's where Don Corleone lived. But few ever imagined that they themselves could live in mafia high style. Curbed.com has the scoop.

It takes a lot to get us interested in Staten Island property -- at least until that subway becomes a reality -- but when a house hits the market with its own English pub in the basement, and that's the second most interesting thing about it, we definitely take notice. The "Post" 's Jennifer Gould Keil reported today that the English Tudor mansion (and its lush lawns) which played a pretty darn important role in "The Godfather" has hit the market for $2.9 million. The Corleones' crib has actually been owned by the same family for over 50 years, and with that type of emotional attachment, it might be hard to make them an offer they can't refuse. The Longfellow Avenue house has 8 bedrooms, 2 fireplaces and 1 swimming pool. Time for The Situation to trade up?

You know there are some really devoted Godfather fans that can afford it. I agree it is very expensive for staten island without any true mode of transport to the city, but I would guess it will be a bidding war and end up in the high 3m

I'm from New York now living in Austin,TX. I'll grant you that much of Texas is not much to look at but Austin is beautiful. Very green with many hills, canyons, rivers and lakes. Most of the people moving to Austin are either from New York or California. Its a good compromise with a great quality of life at half the cost....no state income tax!

That house where Michael lived was the Kaiser estate on Lake Tahoe. Part of the estate, e.g. the boat house you can see from the lake. The rest of the property has been subdivided with other very large homes on the property behind a stone wall.

You think 2.9 mil. is too much? So.....what are you sayin"? I was in The Godfather. Really! Okay, I wasn't. But I've seen it at least 15 times. Okay, twice. The house is nice. A good place to hang my hat. Would they accept a food stamp debit card for a down payment? There goes the 'hood!!!
