can tell you that when you price a house
right, it can sell fast, even in this economy. The former Bold and the Beautiful
soap star put his Los Angeles home on the market for $1.15 million on March 10, reports the Real Estalker
, and had it under contract and in escrow
four days later.
As a newlywed, he purchased the three-bedroom, three-bath home (see 12 gallery photos
) for $995,000 in 2002 when he was playing the role of teen-ager Rick Forrester on the soap -- a character that's been played by a different actor since Torkildsen left the show in 2006.
was built in 1960, but was completely renovated
. It has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and features exposed brick walls, fireplaces, and hardwood floors throughout. There is also a full guest suite downstairs, which has a separate entry, fireplace, built-in
shelving and a steam shower. It could also be used as a media room. The home is wired for sound and has a rare three-car garage. It is listed by Jan Eric Horn, founder of Coldwell Banker's Architectural Division
. He mainly lists homes with unique architectural qualities.
After a seven-year marriage, in 2008 Torkildsen, 29, was divorced from Bonnie Binion, daughter of murdered Ted Binion
, a former casino manager of the family-operated Binion's
gambling hall in Las Vegas.
About the time of the divorce, the younger Binion sold a two-bedroom
, two-bath 1,700-square-foot home on Mulholland Dr. in Los Angeles' Cahuenga Pass neighborhood for $1 million. She was chief heir
to her dad's $55 million estate.
The man who was convicted of murdering Binion's dad, but was later acquitted, got out on parole last year from his burglary and grand larceny conviction, reported Las Vegas Now
. The parole Rick Tabish was serving in Montana ended in March this year, reported the Las Vegas Review Journal
, and he is now free to roam the country.
We have no idea if Tabish's release has anything to do with the quick sale of this home, but when you check out the photos of the home
, you'll see why it was well-priced ... priced to sell. And there's no wonder it was under contract in less than four days.
