House of the Day: Memorial Day Edition

Commemorate this Memorial Day by ogling some of the nation's most interesting homes with military pasts--like the Hollywood Hills compound pictured at left, reportedly once used as a secret research facility for the Air Force. From sprawling army base mansions to converted missile silos (yes, plural), America's landscape is rife with memories of wars gone by. Click through the gallery below to see how these militarized spaces were converted into off-the-wall homes.

A question that has been driving me crazy. How did the Tea Party allow Davis to run against the Republican in New York on the Tea Pary label knowing that any Tea Pary votes would subtract from the Republican total and cause a seat to be gained by the Democrats. If this was a Chicago election I would understand. This question was never asked in the Main stream media or even on Fox News and I'm asking for a Tea Party response

Oh for the old days, when we had money, were looked upojn as good and fair people, had friends who actually liked us, made our enemies very cautious and in general had a happy middle class.
All gone or in the act of going. Thanks, Obie, you've done one hell of a job.

We should be insisting that our 'bought and paid for' Politicians abide our closing down hundreds of costly military bases. We just keep them going long after the war, like in Japan and Germany. 1/2 our taxes are eaten up with all this beaurocratic pandering via military contracting, conflicting agencies, etc.
