Miami Man Found Dead in House With 60,000 Bees

Without knowing all the facts, I will say this.... If the man were using paint, the bees are attracted to an ingredient used in many paints and it could be that a local swarm was flying past and the bees were lured in because of the smell.

Perhaps a lawsuit against the paint manufacturer is impending. :/ Someone has to be made responsible!!! (Stated sarcastically btw but it wouldn't suprise me).

And the remark by dickn2ooob about the journalist using 'posited' - lol yeah, that made me laugh with the thought of 'trying too hard'.

the bees were probably nesting inside the walls. I had the same problem but phenominally, the "yellow jackets" were dead. thousands if not millions of them. they were discovered when the cabinets and sophets were removed from my kitchen. packed between the studs were thousands of dead wasps packed amongst their endless hive. they had eaten through the drywall behind the cabinets. I have some pretty scary photographs.

Very sorry about the man losing his life to the bees. (Killer bees?) I was called to get some out of a house once. (I have bee suit etc.) I had to tear off siding to get at them, but used a vacuum cleaner to suck them up. Then went back at daylight, and sucked up the remaining bees along with the queen. Of course the guys never paid me the $50.00 bucks promised for the job. Dang deadbeats! To get rid of the yellow jackets in your yard. go out at night, stuff some cotton, or rags in the hole,so they cannot get out, then pour in some gasoline. The fumes will get them.

It is so sad that people are so very ignorant (means not knowledgeable) of the facts about the bees. Without bees there would not be humans, there would not be crops or fruits. We need the bees, must help them, Relocating them instead of Erradicating would be the best for the environment. Humans are so stupid, poisoning their own water, their own air, killing species designed to aid in the propagation of edible gifts from our own special (definitely not just a rock in space) self-suficient miracle of our planet. We need to change for the better not for the worse.

To Bee or not to bee, that is the question. Those bees are like the wasps I had in Puerto Rico. When I got my house, there were five huge plantain (banana like plants) in my back yard. No one eats them, they make plaintain chips (like potatoe chips) out of them, and because the rotting plaintain fruit just rots away, the wasps love the nectar and swarm like crazy during the evening hour, so I cut the plants down when they were gone. When they came back, they were unhappy, and when they saw me, they knew who did it, and I got stung five times. That hurt like hell...it makes you sick too. Avoid wasps too!
