If someone has a full trophy room like the ones in these photos, you're looking at a lot of memories and a lot of money. Telling them to just "throw it away" is unrealistic and unfair.

That said, it's a good idea to put them in a self-storage unit or wrapped up in your garage and bring them back out when your home is sold. Taxidermy puts off a lot of people (even a lot of people who aren't animal rightists and have no problem with eating meat or hunting). I think it's the stillness and the blank, staring eyes that unnerve many folks. Home sales are all about maximum value, which means making your home as appealing as you can to the broadest range of people. Especially in this market, you don't want to have something like taxidermies that make a lot of nervous or uncomfortable and create a negative overall impression.

But don't throw them away! That's a crazy suggestion. Just store them until your home's sold.

My condition of sale would be TO INCLUDE ALL the mounts in those houses. Love the mounts. I shoot it I eat it, even bear.

hilarious article!!!!! and totally agree. these homes are so creepy. it's all a matter of taste and i think those wall mounts are HIDEOUS!!!!

I am a meat eater and I love my veggies too. BUT I am an animal lover. I could NEVR live in a home with all of those dead animals hanging there looking at me, I wouldn't feel confortable even visiting a home like them. My mother had a cousin who was a taxidermist, as a child I use to HATE going to visit him, he had all of these creepy dead animals on the walls and standing and siting, it gave me nightmares every time we had to go visit.

as an estate liqudator,i have had to sell some of these items.here in el paso tx &new mexico.i'm not really crazy about having too look at them.but they sell like crazy!!!
