Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit Selling His Underwhelming Los Angeles Home (House of the Day)
By Catherine Sherman
Set to release a new album later this year, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is also hoping to release his Los Angeles
digs. His 1,807-square-foot home is on the market for $1.85 million
. Built in 1933, the Hollywood Hills
home oozes with character. Arched entryways and vaulted ceilings with wood beams are notable architectural details. Turquoise-painted cabinets
and industrial pendant lighting
give the home a vintage feel. Outside, palm trees shade a brick patio
and outdoor fireplace for enjoying balmy California
Public records show Durst purchased the home in December 2006 for $1.405 million. But with the upcoming release of the band's seventh studio album,"Stampede of the Disco Elephants," Durst is on to bigger and better things. Or, maybe not. The group has had its share of ups and downs over the years, with Durst threatening
to kick founding members DJ Lethal and drummer John Otto out of the band last spring. Now with a new CD about to hit stores, Durst is gaining attention for his message to fans
"Our new album may be too raw and psychotic for some of you," he reportedly said. "If so, tough luck. It's important to me that this album is something to help you ... feel. My mind is in your gutter." Regardless of his music's message, however, Durst's home is an inviting space with three bedrooms
, three baths and timeless European-inspired features.
