Google Gregory Peck and you'll find out that after the elegant actor passed away in 2003, his widow, Veronique Peck, moved into a sumptuous estate in the Westwood section of Los Angeles. Now, two years after her death in 2012, the report is that Google exec has just bought the place. If the world of online search becomes a little to virtual for Schmidt, he can make things more real by wandering across the street from his new home, where he'll find the Playboy Mansion.

According to the New York Post, Schmidt paid $22 million, just a shade under the $24.995 million list price, for the sumptuous estate at 539 S. Mapleton Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90024. Whatever the final number is, Schmidt can afford it. As the "grownup" brought into Google by formerly very young founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page back in 2001, Schmidt is now worth an estimated $8.3 billion.

Veronique Peck's grand French chateau sits on 1.3 acres and is traditionally classy and large, with more than 9,000 square feet of living space.

In addition to three family bedroom suites and the master suite upstairs, there's a formal living room, family room, formal dining room, chef's kitchen and breakfast room, two maid's rooms, laundry, two powder rooms, and the guest suite. The grounds are said to offer a "serene setting and great space for entertaining with abundant patio space, expansive flat park-like grounds, manicured gardens, and swimmers pool."
