This modern Atlanta home is about to hit the big screen in director Tyler Perry's new movie, "The Single Moms Club," this week. The movie written, produced and directed by Perry (right) about single mothers from different walks of life who bond over their shared experiences is due out in theaters on Friday. The house, at 890 Courtenay Drive NE, in Atlanta's sought-after Morningside Elementary school district is available now for $1.295 million, and it's one of just a few modern homes in the neighborhood, said listing agent Kimberly Wilkin, of PalmerHouse Partners and Associates.
"It's like a glass house," she said. "It's very modern. It's on a prime lot, and the house is large. The 2007 home -- a custom rebuild by the current owners -- is more than 4,000 square feet and includes a dramatic, gallery-style great room that has 22-foot ceilings. The corner lot features a courtyard, as well as a patio off the master suite, and a balcony off the second suite upstairs, Wilkin said. And a major draw for locals: The home is walking distance to the Virginia Highland neighborhood's restaurants and shops.
