Bigger isn't always better. Increasingly, homeowners are choosing to live in close quarters where the traditional three-bedroom house is traded in for something much, much smaller. Tiny homes are typically 100 to 400 square feet, but anything under 600 square feet is considered small. Some are modern works of art; others are rustic cabins in the woods. Here's a look at a few for-sale listings that fit the bill.

Nice small homes:: but the prices are outragious.. Having been in the construction buisness for 40 years ,I know they can be built for way less than the rediculous prices stated. Any good carpenter will tell you the same....

smaller minds ,bigger profits? I always thought a smaller house was better off on operating costs. But smaller house should not cost as much as a large one should. and now there cutting the size of the land that its own too? If someone has over 100k in one of these little homes, someone got screwed.

For three hundred plus, thousand you could find a pretty nice house.
No need to live in a closet.
(You will save a bundle on cleaning though)

So, If I cut my house in half , will I be able to sell my house)s) for double then it's worth as a larger single house?
I love the idea of the small houses, but come on, THE PRICES ARE REDICULOUS. Tare my house down, turn the Garage into a tiny home and make allot of money???

This is really a good idea. It is only in recent history that we have had such large homes. Before that, the homes we now live in with three or four bedrooms and 3 or four bathrooms were considerred mansions. Now they are common.

Small houses are easier to maintain, cost a lot less to heat, re-roof and so forth. Not even to mention taxes.
