For sale: $34.999 million

This contemporary beach house looks modest from the outside, but walking inside feels like walking onto a cruise ship, said listing agent Georgina Jacobson of Coldwell Banker Previews International. All you see is water and sky.

Walls of glass make way for views from every room -- of the Pacific Ocean, of course, but also sunsets over Catalina Island and the harbor. Two private wraparound terraces provide space for entertaining or relaxing.

While other beach houses are lined up side-by-side on small lots, this 6,000-square-foot, three-bedroom, seven-bath estate sits on a point in the Corona Del Mar section of Newport Beach, giving it privacy and sweeping scenes that are unique even on a beach stacked with luxury homes.

The architect, Brion Jeannette, designed the home in 2000 to blend into the landscape, so its curved walls and circular rooms give it an organic feel, tucked into the bluff.

The owners, who made a fortune designing office furniture, just finished a remodel that suits their down-to-earth style. Instead of a breakfast bar, there is a sushi bar. Instead of a wine-tasting space, they made a place to enjoy tequila.

They also used top-of-the line everything, with heated floors in the master bedroom, a workout room and tile imported from Spain. As they finished the remodel to prepare the home for sale, Jacobson said, "they fell in love with it all over again."

If you can afford that house - you can afford the insurance I'm sure. I just hope it can withstand the rock slides that happen on the coast.
