2009 First Time Buying Guide

Is now the time for first timers to jump into the housing market? With home prices down roughly 30 percent over the past two years, interest rates at historic lows, and a special $8,000 tax credit available, many buyers are saying "Yes" to home ownership.

More than half of America's home buyers were first timers in March. First-time buyers have until Nov. 30 of this year to finalize their purchase and still be eligible. Doing anything for the first time can be intimidating.
